It Is Pride to Think That We Should Get It Earlier - December 2024

With the separation that we've done, with the arrogance that we've had, with the pride that we've had, for us to dedicate 12 years of our life—or even 24 or 48—is still His mercy. Isn't it? God is still being kind to us that only with this much time He allows us to come to His Darshan. The human mind, it seems, 'Oh, what, so much I'm doing?' And even those 12 years will be the most beautiful of our life. Otherwise, how would we spend those 12 years? In conflict, in anger, growing material possession? Here, these 12 years, it sounds like so much work, but actually, it is the best 12.

So, it is pride to think that we should get it earlier. 'All that is difficult, all is difficult.' We are just countering God's judgment and saying, 'Why so difficult?' See, as if we know what is better. What is difficult? So we get stuck in these things, and it's very natural because as I hear it, then I feel like all of us fall for the same traps. This is like so... but you should look at it and say, '12 years I can come to God? Wow, only 12 years!' Because it's God, you see?

If a boy goes to Bombay, he runs away from home at 15 and somebody says to him, 'You will become the next Shah Rukh Khan by 27,' he would say, 'Wow, next Shah Rukh Khan by 27? Only 12 years!' But here, for God-realization, we are saying, '12 years?' So this is God. To come to the recognition of God, the Atma within, in only 12 years—it's a very good deal. We should rush to take it, right? So we need to flip our perspective over it. Like, what better use can you put these 12 years to?
