Ananta guides seekers to recognize their inherent existence as the Supreme Lord, reminding them that suffering only arises when the limitless 'I Am' is falsely identified with limited concepts or personal stories.

Anything you put after 'I Am' is a lie; your presence can never suffer.
You are the Supreme Lord playing the superpower of pretending to be a limited character.
The root of all confusion is the primary confusion about what you are.

A very warm welcome to Satsang today. Okay, it might be a bit noisy today. Lots of work is happening in the house. What's going on before I travel on Friday? We just feel like you're sitting in my house and all these activities are on. Okay, the point we were on this Tuesday is that I go to this very moment. This very moment, is there something missing? Whatever the content of the moment might be, we're here. But have we not been here the last few days anyway? What do we need beyond our existence? If there is something that we could need, then this existence would not be a holy presence; it would be something lacking. But as you taste your existence, do you feel like it is incomplete? Do you feel it is lacking? And then I say, when I say 'do you feel,' I don't mean what are your feelings about it. I don't mean what are your thoughts about it. What is your entitlement? How do you get your existence? How do you experience your existence? Is there naturally something lacking in it? Is there naturally something missing in it? Can you go to sleep tonight? Does this come and go, or is this your constant experience?

Ananta

Yeah, we happen. You want to make a glum face in Satsang? I am judgmental; I cannot not smile on this one. I'm not sure if I'm listening, if I'm not wrong. Oh, there she is, look at that now. No long faces allowed. It is free. If there is nothing lacking in our existence now, in our presence, then where is it lacking? The idea that something should be another way applies to who? This discovery is very, very beautiful. And in Satsang, they have a complaint. I will complain that Ananta doesn't help us with our feelings. Ananta doesn't help us with our thoughts or what to do. The expression from here is pointing to this presence, this being that is not suffering so much feelings and its cause. It is, in fact, the origin, the light of even beings. And I know that as you taste this presence more and more, you will find that these feelings and these thoughts are just images on a screen.

Ananta

Does this mean that those who are working on better quality of feeling or better quality of thoughts are wrong? No, it doesn't mean that. But there are millions of places and millions of people who are helping with this aspect of it, the fulfilling aspect of it. And the intent of this Satsang is to show us this gift. And I know that sometimes it can feel like, 'Ah, but I know this, but it's not helping. I know this, but it is not helping.' Saying that 'I know God is holding my hands' is really not helping. 'I know that the world appears within me and I am the ultimate abode of even God, but how does that help me?' That is level confusion. That was a move that God is here, and which is aware of God's presence? What help could that mean? When we get into that kind of level confusion, what can happen is that in the same paragraph, we can refer to ourselves as the Absolute and we can refer to ourselves as something which is just an appearance—not even an appearance, something which is just mythical, this identity. So the mind will try to own even these insights as 'I am very important.' Both through your eyes or inside, see what is here.

Ananta

It's not a small statement to make that 'I exist, I am.' Our consciousness has given itself one superpower. Now, if you are God, if you are divine, you already have everything. You can do everything. You can project this universe. You can play with time and space as if they are building blocks. You can do all of this. Now, what superpower would you give yourself? You already can play with the entire play of time and space as if it is nothing, as if it is Play-Doh or something. What is the superpower that you can give yourself? Therefore, the only superpower now to give to ourselves is the ability to pick up the notion to pretend as if I'm just a character in this play. The ability to fool yourself as if you're limited. And please know that I mean this completely, with full integrity: that you are God. Not something fancy, not something absurd or something that you have to get to. You are the Supreme Lord of this universe. And as the Supreme Lord, you wanted to play as if you are something small, as if you are something individual. Therefore, you gave yourself this superpower, which is to be able to say 'I am anything, I am something.' I said this before: that anything we put after 'I am' is a lie. The story is slightly too strong, or at least, you see, you can have nothing with the story. I hope you're assimilating some of this.

Ananta

Look at this existence. Look at this presence. We saw that we call it 'I am.' In this 'I am,' there is nothing missing. It is the basis for existence, the basis for any perception, for any experience. That way, it is all there is. And we've also looked over and over the last week and year that unless you attach a concept to this 'I am,' suffering is an impossibility. Only something that is limited can suffer. Why would the Master of the Universe suffer? Your presence, your being, your existence can never suffer. So to get the taste of this suffering, you have to attach a concept to 'I am.' 'I am something. I am a spiritual seeker.' You know, if you attach this even humble and nice-sounding concept, 'spiritual seeker,' what can happen? If you are a spiritual seeker, that means there is somewhere to go, something to see that could come to the big lie. Because that which you were seeking is already there as 'I am.' That which you're seeking is already there as your presence, ever-existent as being, as consciousness, as God, whatever words you want to use. So God, come into this recognition: I am that I am. Because what we are doing, in fact, intuitively, is what God is doing in Satsang right now.

One voice will come and say, 'What a fanciful notion that is.' Actually, that is the voice of fanciful notion because it is the opposite of your direct insight about yourself. Let me see how many feel there is something missing right now in their presence. Does it seem like it's a half-presence or half-existing? You will see there is nothing missing in your existence this moment before you allow the notion to come, before you allow the idea to come, a thought to come. And even after you allow a thought to come, this existence is just here naturally. If you have to work hard to exist, how does existence come upon us? 'Yes, I have to work so hard to make my life worth it.' What amount of work can you make to make your life? You didn't exist; what work will you do to make yourself exist? You exist effortlessly. And it is the nature of the mind that that which is effortless, which is naturally available, it feels that that has no value. And so many would actually prefer it if we gave like a hundred steps to enlightenment. If you feel like, 'Oh, I found it, it has always been here, it's my own presence, my own existence,' it is like, 'Is that it? Anything but step one?' I know how it can feel like that. And then we can feel like, 'I cannot give any attention to this presence,' and it feels like certain things are needed for us to get there.

Ananta

I understand. In fact, we spoke about the heart level, but I'm speaking from this consumer surplus position now. That I exist, how does this existence come upon us? We ask so many things: 'Why, why, why, why does this happen to me? Why is my life like this? I don't think you take a while. God, why is it like this? Why can't my Master be more like this? Why does he live instead of this? We should...' Oh, you're going to lie about everything. Why do you agree? What is it that exists? So as long as we remain in denial of what this existence truly is, then questions like 'Why does this happen to me?' arise. Also, 'What is my life going to bring?' All this confusion is because of the primary confusion about what you are. The root of all confusion is the conclusion about what you are. Speak from your insight about what you are and tell me your meaningful confusion. You cannot do it. You have to insert an identity into it. You have to first become something.

Ananta

This is the story of the typical master-disciple relationship. The disciple comes and says, 'Please sort out my confusion,' and I say, 'Please let's sort out who you are.' It can feel like a denial of your question, but it really isn't. It's the only way that I know of that I can answer it. Suppose you are a lost fish, or you think you are the lost fish. Or suppose you're looking for Nemo or something—Finding Nemo—and you come to me for directions. 'Ananta, I need to find Nemo. Have you seen him?' Now, I know that you are not Nemo, and I know that there is no such Nemo. I know that you're the ocean itself. Now, what direction should I give you? Hear yourself giving this direction, and you will hear my voice in Satsang. The Nemo might change throughout our life. The Nemo has changed throughout our life; it's gone from relationship to money to health of the body. Now Nemo has become freedom or enlightenment. Only this time, this Nemo, the one that is looking, must look within now and see if this one finds anything. In the ocean of your existence, you will find lots of things. Some things you might feel are pleasurable and things might feel painful, but the ocean's job is not to discriminate between them. The ocean's job is not to say, 'I want only this and I don't want the other.' There is nowhere for everything to go except to be within you. It's just that you're misunderstanding your space. You feel like you're a limited space, and once you start to have the insight that there is no limitation, which is true about you, then you will not wish to reject anything in your experience.

Ananta

That is you celebrating Guru Purnima. And these words came: that that's everything that you could see, everything. Don't make a distinction in your blessing because all of this is your creation. Everything is your child and a blessing. Some like to watch, at least your resistance. Don't fight it. Come to this simple phase of neutrality. Then what we seek about in Satsang, the mind feels like it is denial. 'You are in denial of your feelings and thoughts.' This is not denial. Allowing goodness towards whatever might be is the opposite of denial. It is our resisting relationship that we create towards any feeling or towards any concept that acts as an attempt at denial. The ocean is not picking and choosing or consuming. The ocean is the only one concerned about which objects are there in the room. So not giving these to the wrong identity, to the false limited self. It's the denial of the truth of what you are. And the truth of what you are is that all phenomena are allowed and accepted. Actions and reactions, they move on their own. If you're being tasted, your presence tasting or not tasting, whether we're in space, we'll be intuitive. And you're wondering what's for dinner. We can give into the schoolteacher mode if you like. No matter what the mind might be saying, taste yourself as existence, as presence.

Ananta

And if some of you are new to Satsang, the way to quickly find this sense of presence, this sense of existence, is to actually try to stop being. Try to not be for a moment. And then we will revisit. See, it's funny to try and not be because the existence exists here. Then this existence that appears, don't make a concept about it. Don't think of what you will about it. Please don't try to understand how to taste this. No much explanation is needed. If you feel like you're not being or you can't find being, would you be? Can you not be? Don't make any conclusions about it. No interpretation is needed. Allow your insight to immerse itself completely in your presence. These words are directing. It is not to do anything at all. Ask yourselves: your own presence as this holiest of holy gifts. And as you dip inside the wonderful presence, allow the presence complete space. Don't hold anything in your hands. Let it take away all your possessions, the concepts inside, every idea. Oh, you must be all of your defenses now. All this becomes your own presence. The idea that you are doing some things, allow it to be immersed in this presence. If some fear is coming, nothing to be concerned about. This too shall pass. If some joy or bliss is coming, same thing: this too shall pass. Don't hold on to anything at all.

Ananta

And there are all things to this day. Nothing needs to be held on to. Tasting your true existence or true nature, it's always been here. You played with all that could be played with, all the fishes in this ocean. You played with all of this. Now you're discovering what the ocean itself is. What of the spheres in which all of this is happening? Is it separate from you? Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti. Thank you all so much. Can we produce which is your food? There she is. Okay.
