Namaste everyone. Om Shanti. Welcome. Jai Guru Ji. We are captivated in the chapter called 'Test of Self-Realization'. Murder case? Death is everywhere. What happened so far? The story so far: Janaka asked Ashtavakra for help to discover himself, to find the Self. And then Ashtavakra spoke for the first chapter, and then Janaka started speaking—too much, just a little beautiful second chapter was all about Janaka sharing his discovery. And typically what a Master will do is not just take your initial word for it, because they also know that this speaking can come after listening, working you over for years. Prepared for self-realization is external cracking. Having realized yourself as one, being serene and indestructible, why do you desire? Having realized yourself as one, being serene and indestructible, why do you desire? Ashtavakra is asking him because Janaka was the king. So Ashtavakra is starting to see: is there some attachment still that remains to the wealth of the kingdom? This is imagining silver in mother-of-pearl causes greed to arise; so does ignorance of ourselves cause desire for illusion. So we discussed all this in great detail in the past, so I won't elaborate so much. It's a summary, and if you have a question you can stop me.
If there is imagining silver in mother-of-pearl, it causes greed to arise. So the big ignorance of Self calls desire for illusions. And then: realized yourself as an ocean in which the waves of the world rise and fall, why do you run around in turmoil? Having realized yourself as that in which the waves of the world rise and fall, why do you run around in turmoil? Having realized yourself as pure awareness, which is beautiful beyond description, how can you remain a slave to lust? Having realized yourself as pure awareness, as beautiful beyond description, how can you remain a slave to lust? He's already a slave to lust? Not that lust should not arise, then one won't be a slave to it. It is strange that in a sage who has realized Self in all and all in Self, the sense of ownership should continue. First, okay, really poking with all the ocean waves thing. So we talk about: why are you running around in turmoil? All about the worship of kingly duties. I mean, who is a slave to lust and the sense of ownership? A sense that something that belongs to me or something is mine—me, mine, attachment that we often spoken about.
Strange that one abiding in the Absolute, intent on freedom, should be vulnerable to lust and weakened by amorous pastimes. Strange that one abiding in the Absolute, intent on freedom, should be vulnerable to lust and weakened by amorous pastimes. Strange that as the enemy of knowledge, one so weak and nearing death should seek sensual pleasure. Strange that knowing lust is the enemy of knowledge, and so weak and nearing death, seeking this crystal-clear sensual pleasure. Strange that one who is unattached to the things of this world and the next, who can discriminate between the transient and the timeless, and yearns for freedom, should yet fear the dissolution of the body. Everything now, this... okay. Strange that one who is unattached to the things of this world and the next, who can discriminate between the transient and the timeless, and yearns for freedom, should yet fear the dissolution of the body.
Now, this is not something which is rare, this fear of death. Even for those looking into Satsang, who see themselves beyond this worldly clay, fear can be such a strong condition. Such a strong condition. And so, when currently that we hear today, he is one of those who told me that fear of death is a very strong thing. And for it, she said, once you meet it, it is a final... and the Self, at least I know it, it continues, so there is no end. But if even this cannot be used as a crutch in that way, you see? Of course, you're discovering yourselves to be that which is beyond time and space, but you also finding yourself to be that which is prior to all attributes. Is that one concerned about even life? Is the plane of existence really something which makes a real difference to the Self? Finding the Self, you see yourself to be beyond life and death, beyond birth and death. You are the unborn, the undying. It is this many times, it is a manifestation of this fear that comes, which can seem to be an obstacle to our remaining empty of concepts.
And if you feel like this, you might not put it in this way, you might not express it in this way, but when you don't have a concept about yourself, you can feel something very shaky. A fear of dying. And the mind will immediately come and say, 'No, no, no, no, don't go there. That is trouble. The Master is hanging you.' So stay there and see if that is really true. Stay here and see if that is really trouble, or is it just the mind saying it? What is that final drive to pick up almost any belief about ourselves, to make a position about ourselves? This is an escape from this fear of dissolution. And we have actually come to this point. And in the play, when they find that it is relentless, our looking for yourself and staying here, you find that really this is no room for belief in your personal identity. And you will discover that nothing that you are finding here is making a spiritual person or an enlightened person out of you. To ask to let go of all the concepts—you're not becoming a good person, you're not becoming a bad person, you're not becoming a better person.

Okay, in the play, just to recap, it's a good idea. We're saying that this is your Self, beyond this vehicle, beyond birth and death. As you allow yourself to remain empty right now, notice the mind's ways for you to take a position. The position is based on the past, the position is based on the future, the position is based on wanting something, the position is based on meanings, the position is based on some sensation that you might be experiencing. What is the door for this 'me' actually right now? There is no such 'me'. You can really slow it down. Prior to the concept about yourself, what is it that you are?
So what is happening now? What's happening now is that we're coming to the recognition of yourselves. How are you coming to the recognition of yourself? You're using the three clues to finding out. What is it that witnesses all phenomena? What witnesses as the phenomenal movement? Everything with any attribute, any quality, including that which witnesses the sense of space. So the space itself, the witness of all the elements and the space in which the elements are included—this is the first clue, just the witness of it. The second clue: we are finding that which is unchanging. There's no past or future. And hopefully that has to be your direct insight, although unlike most other experiences, you will not have a phenomenal experience. So in a way, we can say it is a non-phenomenal experience. As you are coming to this recognition of the Self, you will find that to believe the story of the mind is the opposite of your own insight, which is saying that you are a phenomenal object, you are full of change, and your power of perception is just like any other object. This is what the mind is saying every time it gives you the story of your limited objective existence, which is actually contrary to your own insight about yourself.
That is why we find that it becomes more and more difficult to believe what the mind is saying. What the mind is saying becomes more and more laughable and unrelatable. And as it becomes more impossible, you find you have more and more space for this recognition. That's why I call this the virtuous cycle. So the recognition aids the dropping of the conditioning with disbelief in the mind, and as you disbelieve the mind, it aids recognition. That's how the play operates. Notice how much allegiance we've had to this mind. Even now, many times, even when we are in Satsang here, believing mental conclusions about even the words of Satsang. Notice the various poses of this mind. The poses are a judge saying, 'Yes, yes, this is right,' or 'No, this I don't like.' A judge sitting over there confirming or denying what it is hearing. Even further, then sometimes it becomes like a judge, sometimes it poses as if it is a frustrated one: 'I don't think I'm getting any of this. This is all beyond me. I'm so tired of spirituality. This is not spontaneous, not getting anywhere.' Is it this kind of pose?
Then sometimes when the recognition happens, you will feel it also comes in that 'ah, enlightened' pose: 'I got it.' And all the various masks of the mind auditioning for your attention. As Guruji said, they're coming up for the show to audition for you. Which mask are you going to pick up now? Maybe empty, not what the mask is doing. Actually, I'm asking you, something is getting drawn towards the Master, and yet the Master doesn't want to meet you through the obstacles, through the prism of this mask. We can meet through this away, so we can meet as one. So this away, so we meet as one. So it's a word like 'position' or 'defense' can seem confusing. Know that I'm speaking about this mask, this persona, pose, facade that we are presuming about ourselves just because the mind is telling us the story. Why would we believe something which is contrary to our own insight? Am I saying just because I am saying it, you believe it? I'm saying you find, using these three clues, you find out what you are and you stay with that insight, what your discovery is, irrespective of what the mind is saying for some time.
And don't be so quick to say, 'I didn't get it,' or 'I'm not able to get it,' or 'I got it.' Neither of these conclusions is valid because even that can become a pose, even that can become a mask. We make a man will be empty, maskless, nakedness, in spite of all the mental attacks, all the feeling of saying appearance. 'Bobby, that's enough. Lust will be... you're full of it.' I have passed this, the world of publicness. So I can also tell you that it doesn't last. It's like somebody standing on the shore saying, 'Come, come across, nothing will happen. Just come.' I'm not going to take it off. You will not die. That we will cover your death with reality just by following the simple pointers. It needs a little bit of openness, swapping the arrogance of your prior knowledge, coming to the innocence of a child. Coming to the discovery of true Self is what Jesus meant when he says, 'Only the babes will enter the kingdom of heaven.' We're becoming babies now because as we stay that way... what does it mean to run out of modes? It means you don't know where to go, what to do. All our concepts are not helping. The deeper longing now to come home to that home which you never really left, but we just get a little far from it.
Whether claimed or tormented, the serene sage abides in the Self, ungratified, unratified. More answers, okay. And notice again that the words 'unratified' do not imply that the sage cannot come to imply that in individual aspects of feeling, in all the little manifestations, there is no resistance to this here. Not saying that 'I am empty, I am the school.' A great soul witnesses his body's actions as if they were another's. How can praise or blame disturb him? So we spoken about duality. Realizing the universe is illusion, having lost all curiosity, how can one of steady mind fear death? Whatever candy this phenomenal realm has to offer, even that is in comparison to your non-phenomenal discovery. How can that be? See, the mind cannot understand. Then many times in Satsang, he has... I found this output is that it's a bit so boring, that nothing happened there, please. So this is when the recognition is given too quickly to the mind to interpret it as... in reality, what is our experience? We see that any form of sensory pleasures, any form of perception, we tire of very quickly. Consciousness doesn't want to deal with it for too long. Please, they don't want to have the best thing, whether spoken to about the best music or the best taste, the best whatever it is. It's constantly only that you people... and what the contrary? So it cannot be that the discovery of the Self will have a particular quality of the taste because even that consciousness...
To interpret it as, in reality, what is our experience? We see that any form of sensory pleasures, I mean form of perception, retire off very quickly. Consciousness doesn't want to deal with it for too long, please. They don't want to have the best thing when spoken to, both the best music or the best taste, the best whatever it is, constantly only that. You see? And what the contrary? So it cannot be that the discovery of the Self will have a particular quality of the taste, because even that consciousness retired of. Consciousness is made up of all the opposites. So if it is only being as one aspect, as also such, then it will move to include the other aspect also. That is the tree of consciousness. In this realm of duality, it plays that way. It actually doesn't want just one side of the spectrum, because only the mind is being known. Only this should be there, only this should be there. So then, nothing. Now, as we are coming to the discovery of yourself, then we might struggle to use words like 'it is so still.' Okay?
So in effect, actually, many people search life then, even of these attributes, beyond purity, beyond stillness. So something to the discovery of this energy-less Self. It is not empty like an empty glass, not empty in the way of an empty room. Like, it's a bowl which will be on that. It is full of non-phenomenon. We feel in a mess. It is full of the non-phenomena. That fullness from which all other arises, all phenomena arise, even consciousness arises of that. So don't fall into that confusion with the emptiness that we speak of, with that kind of emptiness which is also worried the way, which is not devoid of anything, is not phenomenal. If it is a complete waste of women, if the sages made this discovery that 'I found myself and it is just like walking into an empty room,' why would they want everyone to join them in this empty room? For that kind of emptiness is not, not an empty government. That this is the source of all things, including intelligence. Supreme intelligence also arises from that.
You won't really compare the great soul who contained it, moving Self to means desireless in disappointment. Why should a person of steady mind, who sees the nothingness of objects, before one thing to another? He will unattached, untouched by opposite, free of desire, experiences my displeasure, now pain, as events pass through. This also has some capacity for misunderstanding. Present pain is the experience, but he will not see 'I am the experiencer' as an individual entity. There is no sufferer, there is no enjoyer, as if it is something limited. It is all happening in the spheres of your existence. This much all of you will be able to specify, whether it's your first satsang or you've been here for years, that without your existence, there can be no experience. So this, your existence, is the substratum for all experience. Even though it might not yet be your insight that 'all of this is happening in the space of my being, this space of my existence,' that relieves, doesn't matter at this point.
No, as you are that in the presence of which all experiencing can happen, that much is enough. Enough. The tactic in the presence of which experiencing this happens, happening is not affected by whether they experience it at all pleasure or all that of pain. The body might still be going 'ouch.' Look back that this is going to make you into the Man of Steel, Superman here. Dr. Kran, that your body will be hitting over buildings and even is worth cut by signs of firelight, fabulous. It's not about the body. You find yourself to be beyond this. We come to this company that 'just go hum,' which cannot be cut, it cannot be born that way. And know that the vibrancy of experience will continue, most pleasure and pain, the spectrum very selves, but you will not amplify the training covering focus on mental conceptualization. Let it ride. One useful thing is with which children, they're in theme, they cry, next moment they forget about it, start laughing. Then things are very invisible, very, very large. They are not holding onto grievances and delight and values you, a disconnection juice. Okay?
So just want to read a few more voices to Jennifer. So Chapter 3 or exact, now we start Chapter 4. Audio is fine? Oh, Chapter 4 is the glorification of self-realization. So this is the response from Janaka. So Janaka says, 'Surely one can know Self who he plays the game of life, it was waiting from the world. We builders, worden beast.' Surely one who knows Self, who he plays the game of life, because greatly from the world they will dirt, burden peace. He is trying to explain now. Circle a telegraph often with all the possible identity of money and work and kingdom and all of these things. We are trying to explain here, trying to respond to him, sharing that even also Self, it leaves the game of life. There is a fundamental difference that happened, not in actuality, but even in the play, there is a difference between this sage and that expression of consciousness which is still pretending to be a limited entity. A person who is comparing a sage, the liberated one, to most of humanity with dreams free running about like we will the golden pieces. So that which burdens us, which bewilders us, it makes beasts out of us, all of that goes with terms of individuality, the sense of identity.
Truly the yogi feels no elation though he abides in the exalted state yearned for by Indra and all the discontented gods. Now don't worry too much about what I'm going to say, especially if you can't relate to it. I just want to tell you this: in this appearance, it is possible for anything to appear. You might the next moment find yourself living in a realm which is completely unidentifiable with this one. You might be appearing as if one of the gods, like in the scriptures it is talking about. Anything, anything might appear. Please, with that which is being spoken about here in the scriptures, it is beyond any relevant, any experience. So it doesn't matter what are you looking already in regard over here, whatever is my season. This is beyond the realm of appearance, no matter how sublime or terrorism that is given by be. This is all that is trying to say. You have to go here, whoop-ass you.
Surely one who knows that, the capital T, is not touched by was your wife, gesture space is not taxed by small though it seems to be. Who can prevent the great soul, who the universe itself, from living life as it comes? This is a great clue because don't expect that things should change in the events of life because of the discovery that you are making. Eyes can continue to be as it likes. The timer's then saying is, 'Before enlightenment, chopping wood, fetching water; after enlightenment, chopping wood, fetching water.' But I'd like to add two words to that, which is 'or not.' Even that can seem to become like a position that it has to be that way. Many can taste tea now. Before something happened to this one, he had a job, he had work here. Do you think now after that he just left all of that? Therefore he cannot be enlightened by them sandals. It is not what they're saying is that it is completely possible for the same seemingly regular day-to-day life to continue, and it is completely possible that it doesn't. Actually, anything can happen.
This is important because many times this can become conditioned in opposition. That's okay. So then now what this witness? I found that it has no attributes, I found that it is unchanging. So now what is supposed to happen to me? Where is my hero and where are my followers? Where is my certain program? This actually career path, actually, I think it's visit many who come to this discovery, one with a regular life with more never release outwardly sharing second in this way to the post a presence less is everyone. It is not actually fit to play certain be able to reach also so relatable once a wonderful someone was in under, he was taking move blue jeans at satsang and he's had there, he felt like Zak daily he was serious. It was so clear I could cease pointing with getting through those, just becoming social. Okay, with not one of those stories where I pay a friend which happened to offend, what it actually happened to me was much like independent actually acclaim you the things and he just felt so clear, so so clear, and he felt that it was done, what had to be done. Yeah.
Okay, so then what happened is that he started to wonder, so now what's going to happen? We're certainly waiting over up, starting to wonder visible, can people tell? Is there some radiance? This thing can be changed. So then he could get outside those walls or song is a sunburn on the ashram for those of you who know Andy, she keeps a comes out and he she is this Western lady coming to grips intent, huh, coming to negate intense. So he is wondering to themselves, 'Ah, as I started now, can she see it? Can she see this? What am I going to see you?' I am exaggerating, I was not the most so they like it was without feeling. Okay. And then she came to him and said, 'I with auto rickshaw guy.' And he there in that moment, all of his life expectation of what should happen outwardly, this fellow me, it doesn't happen. There's a reason I don't give a, I got a fool when you have a system. It shows us that even in the light of clear insight and exhibition, the mind can come and play with some expectation. So what is this mean which will be now? I wonder how my life will be now. Where are my devotees?
Okay, who can prevent the graceful, no, the universe itself from living life as it comes? Of the poor kind of being from Brahma to a glade of job, only the page can renounce aversion and desires. The whole thing earlier, it doesn't matter what form is appearing in life or form you have that, only those were seen beyond its nominal fee can truly either there beyond this. There is he who knows himself as one with no other. There is he who knows himself as one with no others, the Lord of the universe. He acts and he knows and is never afraid. Where is he who knows himself as one with no other, Lord of the universe? He had thirty, he actually knows and is never afraid. Will you tell something very beautifully? He says it doesn't matter whether, oh let's put example, once you discover that this world is the dream, or it will discover that this world to the dreams, it doesn't give any advantage to the brain character. There is no phenomenal benefit, at least outwardly, to British coffee won't accept anything out with this because anything that you expect can become a bench farm like an expectation that only one and no longer and we only once I experience only bliss, only once whatever the only ones might be, that becomes a condition. And what are we doing? We are talking all condition if we including the spiritual one. The movies which enjoys when you know nothing about the next scene.
Okay, quickly, quickly let's see if we can do justify. I know we're doing it very differently from how we have done the last few times. The last few times we've looked at almost every word with the shine which is coming up this way, but just talk me if you contribute by anything. And also the tips of the previous ones are available and in a few months or in a few weeks it will be available as a book. Books also positivity refer to over toys an orbital junk registry. So in Chapter 5, it's four ways to dissolutions. It is very, very beautiful actually, go into the fusion step of that is six chapters, just four verses, and each verse is a great clue. We're grateful to use it like that. It one actually take any one of them whichever piece to you after hearing them and just marinate a nice one template that forms.
So firstly says: 'You are immaculate, touched by nothing. What is there to renounce? The mind is complex, let it go. Know the peace of dissolution.' You are immaculate, touched by nothing. What is there to renounce? The mind is complex, later to know the peace of dissolution. 'The universe arises from you like forms from the field. Know yourselves as one, enter the peace of the fish.' The universe arises from you like poem on the field, know yourself as one, enter the peace of the field and focus on all that you've heard so far. Nothing will also help it actual.
Nothing—what is there to renounce? The mind is complex; let it go, no? The peace of dissolution. You are immaculate; that's fine. Nothing—what is there to renounce? The mind is complex; let it go. Know the peace of dissolution. The universe arises from you like foam from the sea. Know yourself as one; enter the peace of the Self. The universe arises from you like foam on the sea; know yourself as one; enter the peace of the Self. And focus on all that you've heard so far. Nothing will also help it, actually. You're just seeing one, okay? Just happening as one play, but we are breaking it up into many using the mind, using concepts. You see, this is one appearance within yourself. Where is the experience of sound? Where is the sense of taste? Where is the sense of sight? Where is the experience of touch? All of this is happening within you. What is it that you wear? This universe is experienced—to say anything is outside of you, from your exterior. So let me keep it loose.
The universe arises from you like foam on the sea. Know yourself as one; enter the peace of dissolution. Third was: like an imagined snake in a rope, the universe appears to exist in the immaculate Self but does not. Seeing this, you know there is nothing to dissolve. Like an imagined snake in a rope, the universe appears to exist in the immaculate Self but does not. Seeing this, you know there is nothing to dissolve. So we talked about in the past, we talked about the 'I'—that which is the final witness, the Self, the capital Awareness. That which itself is not the small layer of appearance. So in relation to reality, which is unchanging, this capital 'I', their appearance, will have more appearances. So in that way, it is unreal because it is not unchanging; it is not constant. So the third is: look at what has an appearance and stay with that which is not an appearance. Ask yourself: 'Am I an appearance?' We use this kind of contemplation.
Both: you are perfect, changeless. So misery and happiness, hope and despair, life and death—this is the state of dissolution. You are perfect, changeless. So misery and happiness, hope and despair, life and death—this is the state of dissolution. Now, many times what can happen is that as we are contemplating this, we are not able to relate to ourselves as perfect and unchanging. Within our life, we are blessed with the holy presence of the Satguru, perfect and changeless. So this is another way of saying what one of my favorite pointers is to say: 'See it at my Master's feet.' See, keep your eyes at my Master's feet. If you can find your own presence in this way—that which is perfect and changeless—beautiful. Because this external embodiment of the Master exists in service to this divine presence. If that seems confusing, we are blessed to have the presence of the Master; stay with that. This is another way of saying surrender.
As it is said, you are both perfect and changeless. So misery and happiness, hope and despair, life—everything is the Master's problem. Whatever events might come, you surrender both. Let it come and go. And if it seems like it cannot be let go this way, it is God's, Guru's problem. It is Father's. Whatever is, whatever terminology—don't pick up anything as your condition. Don't pick up elation or misery as your condition. I mean that it's surrendered once, saying: 'You are the one doer, You are the one experiencer, my Lord.' Nice photo. I feel like in the last few weeks we have provided so many tips and pointers and clues. The fact that the mind is complex—make it go, oh, let go of this complexity. Now you have got enough tips and tricks. Using the words of Ashtavakra and Janaka, we've got some very clear insight into what it is, or what the discovery is like. Also, the outcome of this contemplation: your life becomes like liquid sky. We happen... is it possible? Why do you want to see this clearly? All this is an answer, you know.
For somebody, even if it's sounding like a closing session, I don't know, we will continue next week, God willing. To say correctly, even this much of the word of Ashtavakra is more than enough. If I just believe one thing... no change. Till next week, is that there are many requests for a session that is in the morning, or some morning India time, because that is convenient at some other time. So we will go back to oscillating or deciding the time, pretty much with only one day's notice. Some scheduling changes will happen, but I also want to ensure that there is no clash with the Mooji broadcasts, which some might be watching. So we'll take these things into consideration over the weekend and then early next week we'll be back with the schedules. So Monday we've got... we meet at 4:30 with the intent, and you see how it goes. You, my child, is a baby as my phantom movie doing, keeping in Sofia Luanda. Okay.
Let's do some Ram chanting today before we end the week. Okay. Before we start, actually, you don't need to worry about this. We are not necessarily invoking the physical Satguru form or a town from Indian spirituality. Not necessarily meaning those who are devoted to that form are false; that is also a form to hold in your heart, both the divine feeling. But we're using this beautiful mantra 'Ram' just so that—and it is to gain more knowledge into these two—at the vibrational power to give them, give the trouble of the mind to invest in this peace, to make the mind that inflow of Atma. Many great teachers have spoken about this chanting. In fact, Kabir Ji at one time, I remember seeing where somebody said if you say it out with full devotion once in a day, it is more than enough. You will exit the cave of that infinity with full devotion, with all the vegetarians and also great. It is like a Pranam to the Guru. Believe in the only practice. Mean Guru... it is near 'Ram Ram' and feed people and people that all the useful and people will hear answer with more than you can know.
Small offering from Buddhism also, and the practical use. Think about such a beautiful location of your own divine presence. We shouldn't see you like we relate to the form of Ram as you might have seen in Hindu spirituality. And it is—don't worry about that. It is not about a particular form. I know that particular form is also very built in my hands. It is not an aversion to form of innocence, but I know that some can become resistant about forms. So it is using this activated answer, allow our attention to immerse in the divine presence. Allow yourself to be in this holy presence. So chanting 'Ram Ram' as the Pranam continues you eternally, you. Glory to God, praise to God. Again I'd say glory to Jesus or praise to God. Thank you all so much for being in Satsang. Satguru Sri Moojiji Ki Jai. Hmm. Moojiji.
